(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislators Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with local seniors on Tuesday, March 19 during a special event hosted by the Freeport Salvation Army. During the event, the Legislators joined with guests in heralding the arrival of spring with Freeport Salvation Army Director Awilda Rosario.
“With St. Patrick’s Day and the arrival of spring, this is a time of year that is brimming with optimism and renewal,” Legislator Mulé said. “It was wonderful to be with our local seniors to honor Nassau County’s rich Irish heritage and celebrate the spirit of the season now upon us. Thank you to everyone at the Salvation Army for being such gracious hosts for this event!”
“Although there was a chill in the air on this first day of spring, everyone’s hearts were warmed by the hospitality that the Salvation Army provided for Freeport’s seniors,” Legislator Koslow said. “We greatly appreciate the efforts that Awilda and everyone at the Salvation Army put forth to make this such a special celebration of Nassau’s Irish American heritage for our seniors.”
