(BAXTER ESTATES, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) honored Port Washington Business Improvement District Executive Director Holly Byrne for being named honoree of the Baxter’s Pond Foundation Progressive Dinner on Saturday, April 5.
For more than a quarter century, Byrne has channeled her love for the great outdoors toward giving back to Baxter Estates and the greater Port Washington community. After moving to Long Island, Byrne volunteered and worked alongside Myron Blumenfeld on behalf of various Port Washington based nonprofits. After meeting Nancy Comer – a cofounder and longtime President of the Baxter’s Pond Foundation – Byrne immersed herself in the organization and served as their executive administrator for six and a half years.
“Holly Byrne’s commitment to Port Washington and Baxter Estates is unparalleled – and she has distinguished herself as a tireless advocate for organizations that protect our environment, enrich our community and support our small businesses,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “The Port peninsula is a better place for her efforts, and she is a most deserving Baxter’s Pond Foundation’s Progressive Dinner honoree!”
