DeRiggi-Whitton Announces Upcoming Improvements to West Shore Road in Port Washington

(PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) is pleased to announce that important infrastructure improvements are set to begin on West Shore Road in Port Washington on Wednesday, May 1.

Earlier today, Nassau County DPW officials confirmed that milling and paving work will begin on the roadway starting Wednesday, May 1 (weather permitting) and continue until complete. This follows the completion of drainage improvements on the roadway earlier this winter to address spot flooding issues during heavy precipitation events.

“West Shore Road is one of the key pathways into Port Washington and Manorhaven, and improvements to this major roadway will bring traffic safety, quality of life, and economic development benefits for the entire area,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I appreciate everyone’s patience as Nassau DPW completes these important upgrades.”
