(PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) - Since March 2020, Nassau County’s first responders and healthcare professionals have continued to selflessly serve and protect the public amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. As a token of her appreciation for their unwavering efforts, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) presented COVID-19 Caregiver pins to the staff of the Amsterdam at Harborside assisted living community. Above, Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton is pictured on Friday, Aug. 6 with Executive Director Brooke Navarre, who was presented with the Caregiver pins on behalf of the Amsterdam team.

“The dedicated employees of assisted living facilities like the Amsterdam at Harborside worked tirelessly during the darkest moments of the COVID-19 pandemic to protect and care for our most vulnerable citizens,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It was my honor and privilege to recognize their valiant efforts and celebrate them for all they have done during extraordinary challenging times.”
