(GLEN COVE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) joined the Glen Cove community in celebrating the grand reopening for the headquarters of NOSH Delivers at the newly rebuilt Glen Cove VFW Post 347 on Saturday, Sept. 21. The occasion marks a homecoming for the philanthropic organization, which was established to fight hunger by facilitating safe food drop-offs during the COVID-19 pandemic. NOSH was displaced three years ago after a devastating fire tore through the VFW hall but continued operating in temporary locations to serve more than 600 families spanning from Glen Cove to Bayville.
“It was especially fitting for NOSH to celebrate returning to its home base at VFW Post 347 with volunteer after volunteer rolling up their sleeves and doing their part to fight food insecurity in our region,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “My family and I are so proud to support NOSH’s incredible work in any way we can, and I applaud Board President Christine Rice for her tireless efforts to fight hunger and make our community a more welcoming, caring place on a daily basis.”
