(EAST MEADOW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove), the ranking member of the Legislature’s Public Safety committee, toured the Nassau County Correctional Facility on Friday, Aug. 20.
Accompanied by (from left) Correctional Officers Benevolent Association (COBA) President Brian Sullivan, Legislator Denise Ford and COBA First Vice President Pat McDevitt, Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton inspected recent improvements to the Correctional Center and heard more about additional upgrades that will be implemented as part of a master plan for capital improvements to the facility.
“As the ranking member of our Legislature’s Public Safety committee, I am keenly aware of the strategic investments that are necessary to protect our corrections officers and maintain humane conditions at the Nassau County Jail,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “Our recent visit provided us with key insights that will guide our next steps in our long-term plans for this crucial facility.”
