WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) and Dr. Eve Lupenko are partnering to provide free skin cancer screenings on Friday, Feb. 28.
According to experts, skin cancers are the most common type of cancer, and the American Cancer Society estimates that 5.4 million cases of basal and squamous skin cancers are diagnosed each year.
“Skin examinations should be part of everyone’s annual health care routine. Regardless of your age, gender or background, skin cancer is a real concern, and everyone should take advantage of this opportunity,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I thank Dr. Lupenko for making this service so accessible and look forward to future opportunities to promote skin health in our community.”
