(MINEOLA, N.Y.) –Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) secured $15,000 to upgrade radio equipment that members of the Sea Cliff Fire Department rely on to serve and protect the public.
The funding, which was authorized through the County’s Community Revitalization (CRP) program during the Aug. 6 meeting of the full Nassau County Legislature, will be utilized to replace an outdated repeater antenna on the firehouse roof with a newer version that can handle new fire department radio frequencies.
“When our firefighters rush to respond to an emergency, clear communication can make all the difference,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “Providing these funds to upgrade the Sea Cliff Fire Department’s infrastructure is money well spent and will go a long way in protecting our brave volunteers and the public they serve.”
