Delia DeRiggi-Whitton was inaugurated the Nassau County legislator representing the new 11th Legislative District on Jan. 6. She was sworn-in along with her fellow Democratic legislators by Senator Charles Schumer.
DeRiggi-Whitton served her first term in the 18th LD and now begins her second term in a district that incorporates Sands Point, Port Washington, Flower Hill, Roslyn, Roslyn Harbor, Glen Head, Glenwood, Sea Cliff and Glen Cove.
DeRiggi-Whitton is Ranking Member of the Legislature’s Health & Human Services Committee and the Towns, Villages & Cities Committee. She is also an active member of the Finance and Economic Development committees.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the residents of Nassau,” DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It will be a pleasure to continue the work I have been doing in the greater Glen Cove area and in my new area, I will work hard to provide the level of service that my predecessor Wayne Wink gave us for so many years.”
