[ARCHIVED] Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton Partners with Greenberg Cosmetic Surgery & Dermatology

Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton - Skin Cancer Screening

(GLEN COVE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) partnered with Greenberg Cosmetic Surgery & Dermatology and Dr. Eve Lupenko, M.D., F.A.A.D. to provide free skin cancer screenings for constituents at the Glen Cove Public Library on Friday, Sept. 27.

In addition to performing skin examinations for 30 registered patients, Dr. Lupenko and her team provided free sunscreen and counseled residents on the importance of year-round, all-season sun protection and the need for regular full skin examinations.

“Like many ailments, skin cancer is most easily and successfully treated when patients discover the problem early,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “By providing these free screenings, I hope to empower my constituents with the knowledge they need to develop healthy self-care routines and protect their health and well-being. I thank the Glen Cove Library for opening their doors to this program and Dr. Lupenko and her team for making this opportunity possible.”

“Greenberg Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology is honored to have joined forces with County Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton to provide free skin cancer screenings for her constituents,” Dr. Lupenko said. “Several basal cell skin cancers and many pre-skin cancers were detected that day. I commend Delia for providing these potentially life-saving medical screenings because skin cancers are more easily treatable when detected early.”
