One of Glen Cove’s public beaches, Crescent Beach, has been closed since 2009 on the discovery that high levels of pollution and bacteria were present in the area making it unsafe for the public to use. Now with the funds available from the local, state, and federal levels, the county is able to initiate a study to determine the next step in the beach’s recovery. Hopefully this favorite beach for many will be open to the public once again soon.
