(GLEN COVE, PORT WASHINGTON and ROSLYN HARBOR, N.Y.) – Nassau County has embarked upon a series of road repair and traffic safety projects within the 11th Legislative District, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) announced.
In recent weeks, the Nassau County Department of Public Works (DPW) has undertaken milling and repaving work on Scudders Lane from Glenwood Road to Glen Cove Avenue in Glen Head/Roslyn Harbor; West Shore Road in Port Washington, Glen Cove Avenue in downtown Glen Cove, and Duck Pond Road in Glen Cove.
In addition to these road repaving projects, County officials have confirmed that pedestrian signals are being added at the crossings for Shore and Harbor Roads in Port Washington. As part of that project, the existing signal at Mill Pond Road will also be rebuilt to add pedestrian crossing signals.
“Making our roads safer for the drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists who use them is one of our fundamental responsibilities in local government, and these recent projects will go a long way toward achieving that outcome,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we complete these important investments in our future, and I have every expectation that these projects will soon be fully completed and operational for the benefit of all District 11 residents.”
