[ARCHIVED] Drucker, Hicksville Congress of Teachers Invite Families to ‘Chill Out with a Good Book’

(HICKSVILLE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) is partnering with the Hicksville Congress of Teachers to invite local families to “Chill Out with a Good Book” during a new online winter break storytime literacy initiative.

 The first link will be posted on Facebook and YouTube at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23; thereafter, from Thursday, Dec. 24 to Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, new storytime links will be posted at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The series features teachers, high school students and others as community guest readers.

 “Educators in Nassau County and throughout our region continue working tirelessly to ensure young people continue to grow in their studies during the pandemic. The ‘Warm up With a Winter Read’ series supports these efforts and by inviting children and their families to enjoy wonderful stories during the holiday break at their own pace,” Legislator Drucker said. “I’m grateful to the Hicksville Congress of Teachers and our wonderful community readers for joining us to create an innovative series that is sure to entertain young readers and cultivate a love of literacy from the comfort of home.”
