(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) joined members of the Plainview Jewish Center on Sunday, Oct. 20 to welcome Cantor Judith Berkson to her role as leader of the congregation.
Judith has over 15 years of experience as a cantor, composer, and multi-instrumentalist and has been active in music, education, synagogue leadership and spiritual outreach. Her cantorial music has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Lilith magazine and The Jewish Week among other publications. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in music at Wesleyan University with a focus in cantorial studies.
“Cantor Berkson’s extensive experience and exceptional talent will indeed be an asset in her new role as a spiritual cantor in Nassau County,” said Legislator Drucker. “It was my pleasure to welcome Judith and recognize her dedication and commitment to Jewish life in Plainview and the surrounding communities.”
