STATEMENT FROM NASSAU COUNTY LEGISLATOR ARNOLD DRUCKER ON ANTI-SEMITIC GRAFFITI AND PROFANITIES FOUND AT SYOSSET HIGH SCHOOL TODAY
SYOSSET, NY (August 27, 2017) - In response to anti-Semitic graffiti and profanities that were discovered this morning at Syosset High School, along with the name of a notorious gang, Nassau County Legislator Arnold Drucker has asked that local law enforcement increase patrols in the area and has offered the following statement: “News of this morning's latest hate-based offense is sickening and repulsive. I have been in contact with local law enforcement to step up police patrols in the area, and around our local schools, for the safety and security of our local residents and students. With many students scheduled to attend Freshman orientation tomorrow at Syosset High School, I want to reassure our community that these brazen, cowardly acts of hate will not be tolerated here, or anywhere else. Further, I ask that if anyone has any information that they believe may be related to last night's acts of hatred to please call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.” Legislator Arnold Drucker will be attending a "Break the Hate" rally tonight, Sunday, August 27th, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Mid Island Y JCC in Plainview to promote mutual respect among all people and invites anyone who is willing to stand up against the recent wave of hate in our country, and our local communities, to attend and show their support.
