Legislator Judy Jacobs was so happy to have met the Plainview Hawks Little League Baseball Team yesterday, August 13th. The Plainview Hawks are a local Little League Team who were competing for a spot in the Williamsport Little League World Series. After all was said and done, the Plainview Hawks lost in the New York State final, making them the 2nd best team in New York. The Hawks went 7-0 in district level and 4-0 in sectional level, becoming the best team on Long Island (the first time this has happened the 61-year history of the Plainview Little League). Jacobs said, “Boy did they give a lot of teams a run for their money. A sincere congratulations to the players and coaches for never giving up. The level of commitment needed to get as far as the New York State final is immense, and I'm so proud of the players and coaches for maintaining that passion and devotion.”
