[ARCHIVED] Legislator Jacobs Attends Plainview-Old Bethpage Memorial Day Parade

The sun was shining on the Plainview Memorial Day Parade on Monday, the 25th. As always, Lenny Symons and his Parade Committee did an outstanding job of gathering everyone and the parade went on seamlessly. Bands, unicyclists, fire trucks, Nassau County Red Cross, community leaders and Civics, the Board of Education, and many others were part of the festivities. Pictures show the smiles on the faces of the participants who were very aware that this was taking place in memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. At the end of the parade there was a moving ceremony at the Plainview Community Park with performances from both elementary and upper classes of the POB school system. Honors were bestowed on Grand Marshall Jack Stein, Nassau County Police Commissioner Tom Krumpter and Gary Epstein, past President of the POB Chamber of Commerce. Young people had interviewed the Grand Marshall and gave very moving speeches at the event.
