Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) attended the rededication of the Lucille S. and Martin E. Kantor Bereavement & Trauma Center, located in Roslyn Heights on Wednesday, October 8th. The Center is housed at the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center which has celebrated 60 years of service to the Long Island community. In 2003, The Lucille and Martin Kantor Bereavement & Trauma Center opened on the main campus in Roslyn Heights, housing the Schumacher Family Bereavement and Trauma Program. Jacobs said, "I am always in awe of the wonderful work this Center does. I, personally, was helped after the loss of my beloved husband Sid, and will never forget the welcoming feeling and compassion that I experienced. Nassau County is truly fortunate to have this Center in our midst.”
