Legislator Drucker Applauds Approval of Road Repaving Contract for Portions of L.I.E. Service Roads, Old Country Road
(PLAINVIEW and HICKSVILLE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is pleased to announce that the Legislature recently cleared the way for major improvements to key County roads in the 16th Legislative District.
The Legislature’s Rules committee voted unanimously on Wednesday, Sept. 6 to authorize a nearly $7 million contract with H&L Contracting LLC encompassing the following projects:
- Hicksville/Plainview - Old Country Road from NY 107 to the NY 135 Bridge
- Hicksville - Long Island Expressway South Service Road from NY 25 to NY 106
- Plainview - Long Island Expressway North Service Road, west of Round Swamp Road to the west water line of Sunnyside Boulevard
- Plainview - Long Island Expressway South Service Road (Executive Drive) - East of Sunnyside Blvd to approximately 800 feet west of Round Swamp Road
“So many Nassau County residents rely upon Old Country Road and the Long Island Expressway service roads to complete their daily commutes and enjoy all that Long Island and our region have to offer,” Legislator Drucker said. “I am gratified that my colleagues in the Legislature cleared the way for a nearly $7 million investment in our infrastructure that will both foster economic growth and improve the quality of life across the 16th District.”
