Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) and State Assemblyman Chuck Lavine, joined Veterans, Police Officers, Firemen, and, the phenomenal Parkway Principal, wonderful children and special teachers of Parkway Elementary School in Plainview at the annual 9/11 memorial ceremony. A moving ceremony, complete with each child holding an American flag which, at the end of the program, they planted in the ground at the school, made those gathered have tears and then smiles as the children sang beautifully and emotionally, with some even using sign language. Jacobs said, "This is an event I just never miss. It is so wonderful to honor our Veterans, applaud them, to honor our firemen and police officers and have a special few minutes to honor Plainview's own Chris Levi, arriving for the first time without a cane, who literally gave so much as he fought for our country."
