(MINEOLA, N.Y.) Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D -Plainview) honored the Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School boys soccer team for capturing the Nassau County Class AA boys championship - the program’s first County title since 1985. The Hawks won their championship with a 1-0, double-overtime triumph over Oceanside on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Legislator Drucker honored the Hawks in front of the Nassau County Legislature during its Monday, Nov. 21 session. He presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to the athletes and recognized the coaching staff, led by coach Christine Ho, for their outstanding accomplishments.
“Powered by their dedication, discipline, and teamwork, these young men brought tremendous pride to all of us in Plainview and Old Bethpage by capturing the boys soccer championship in such dramatic fashion,” Legislator Drucker said. “It was my pleasure to welcome these outstanding student athletes to the Nassau County Legislature and celebrate their achievements with the community and my colleagues.”
