(HICKSVILLE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) recently rang in the start of the new school year in the 16th Legislative District by partnering with Broadway Commons and community stakeholders to host a back-to-school celebration at the mall on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
During the event, youngsters got an up-close look at the vehicles, trucks and machinery utilized by the personnel of the Nassau County Police Department and the Hicksville Fire Department. NCPD’s Mounted unit was also on hand, giving guests a chance to interact with a horseback officer and their faithful steed. And, to help students start the 2022-23 school year on the right foot, there was a back-to-school supply giveaway.
In addition to Broadway Commons, the NCPD and Hicksville Fire Department, the event was presented in partnership with Bethpage Federal Credit Union, ShopRite, GoForIt, C2 Education, Trader Joe’s, the Huntington Learning Center and Mathnasium.
“It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying themselves before the start of what we all hope will be a tremendously successful school year,” Legislator Drucker said. “Thank you to all of our sponsors for their generous contributions and the men and women from the NCPD and the Hicksville Fire Department for making this festive farewell to summer so much fun!”
