Legislator Arnold Drucker Launches “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” an Initiative to Help Seniors Get Essential Goods
In an effort to help local senior citizens, Nassau County Legislator Arnold Drucker (D -Plainview) in partnership with Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center has launched a community initiative to help seniors get groceries and medication they need during the coronavirus pandemic.
The coronavirus has had a significant impact on seniors across the country because they are more likely to have underlying health conditions that make them more vulnerable to the illness. To prevent seniors from becoming exposed to the virus, it is recommended that they stay home as much as possible, keep a distance of at least 6ft, wash hands often, cough into your elbow cuff, and continuously wipe down any shared surfaces with others in the home.
Residents who would like to volunteer are urged to email Legislator Drucker’s office to connect with seniors in need of essentials they may need during this pandemic.
For assistance or to volunteer, please call Crystal Burger in Legislator Drucker’s office at 516-468-5811 or via email cberger@nassaucountyny.gov or sign up by visiting https://forms.gle/hykvfR864VqY6AQ2A
