(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) joined with survivors and supporters on Saturday, June 3 at the annual Plainview-Old Bethpage “Relay for Life” fundraiser, where hundreds of participants celebrated survivors and honored the memories of loved ones and friends who lost their battles to cancer.
During the event at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School, supporters pledged donations to walkers and purchased luminaria bags, which are dedicated to a friend or a loved one whose life has been touched by cancer. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society and its mission to achieve “advances in research, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.”
“Year after year, it is truly inspiring to watch my neighbors from the Plainview-Old Bethpage community come together to raise life-saving funds for the American Cancer Society,” Legislator Drucker said. “Thank you to the Plainview-Old Bethpage ‘Relay for Life’ committee for your tireless efforts in this battle and to all the survivors and Relayers whose presence made this such a meaningful and impactful day in our community.”
