(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – To celebrate survivors and honor the memories of loved ones and friends who lost their valiant battles with cancer, Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) joined survivors, their supporters, and his colleagues in government at Plainview-Old Bethpage’s “Relay for Life” at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School on Saturday, June 4.
To kick off the Relay, attendees lined the middle school track and cheered on survivors as they took a celebratory “survivor’s lap.” It was immediately followed by the “caregivers lap” in honor of the family and friends who were with them every step of the way.
“Plainview-Old Bethpage’s Relay for Life is a beautiful affirmation of the community’s commitment in the battle to eradicate cancer,” Legislator Drucker said. “It was truly a pleasure to to have been a part of this heartwarming celebration of survivors, caregivers and the resilience of the human spirit.”
