(LAWRENCE, N.Y.) – With a new school year approaching, more than 50 children received free backpacks, school supplies and food at the Five Towns Community Center on Wednesday, Sept. 2 during an event hosted by Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream). Co-hosted by ICNA Relief and Gammy’s Pantry, the back-to-school giveaway served as a one-stop shop for families seeking assistance with meeting their back-to-school needs during these unprecedented times.
“Thanks to the generosity of ICNA Relief and Gammy’s Pantry, we were able to ensure that the children in our community have everything they need so that they can thrive in their studies and achieve their educational goals,” Legislator Solages said. “I thank them for their partnership in this latest effort to support our community and wish every Nassau County family a safe and successful start to a new school year.”
