WHAT - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) invites the community to commemorate Veterans Day in Elmont by attending American Legion Post 1033’s parade on Thursday, Nov. 11.
The parade is scheduled to step off from the American Legion post at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to Veterans Memorial at the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Covert Avenue. There, a Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 11:11 a.m. Following the parade and ceremony, refreshments donated by Legislator Solages will be served at Post 1033.
Coinciding with the parade and gathering, eligible attendees will also be able to get flu shots and COVID vaccines from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. during a pop-up clinic in Post 1033’s parking lot.
