(NORTH VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) is pleased to announce the completion of repaving work on North Fletcher Avenue between the Southern State Parkway and Hendrickson Avenue.
During the last several years, Legislator Solages has advocated directly with Town of Hempstead officials to repave the entirety of North Fletcher Avenue. While the road was repaved north of the Southern State Parkway in 2019, Legislator Solages continued to amplify residents’ concerns about the poor condition of this road to Town of Hempstead officials.
Upon completion, these long-awaited improvements will complement repairs that New York State made to the North Fletcher Avenue onramps at the Southern State Parkway, which had fallen in a similar state of disrepair and were likewise the focus of extensive advocacy by Legislator Solages’ office.
“These long-awaited improvements to North Fletcher Avenue will go a long way toward improving quality of life for North Valley Stream residents and making it safer for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians to utilize this road to get around town,” Legislator Solages said. “Thank you to the Town Supervisor and the Town Board for following through on my requests and hearing the pleas of North Valley Stream residents to get this crucial project done.”
