Solages Honors Elmont Family Health Center, Long Island FQHC During National Health Center Week

Solages - Health Center Week

(ELMONT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) commemorated National Health Center Week on Friday, Aug. 13 with a visit to the Elmont Family Health Center’s community health fair and COVID-19 vaccination clinic.

During his visit, Legislator Solages presented a Nassau County Legislature Citation to Long Island Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in recognition of the outstanding healthcare services provided through their network of facilities across Nassau County, regardless of the patient’s insurance status or ability to pay for care.

“Federally qualified health centers serve a crucial role in our efforts to correct the persistent disparities in healthcare access that have a disproportionately negative impact upon communities of color,” Legislator Solages said. “The leaders of the Elmont Family Health Center and Long Island FQHC have been tremendous partners throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and I was thrilled to commemorate National Health Center Week by recognizing their service to Third Legislative District residents.”
