WHAT – To help ensure local students get a strong start to the 2024-25 school year, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) is teaming up with the Green Acres Mall and community partners to host a back-to-school giveaway in the mall parking lot on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Students who pre-register will receive backpacks during the free event, which is scheduled to feature bounce houses, music, and other family-friendly attractions. Sponsors include Power 105, JetBlue, Meera empowerment, next Level Planning, Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council, 24Fitness, Safetech, PVE/EDi Engineers and Architects and Dave’s Bounce and Play

“Back-to-school season is filled with tremendous promise for our young people, but the cost of school supplies can be a challenge for families who are working hard to make ends meet,” Legislator Solages said. “That is why I am so proud to work with the Green Acres Mall and this team of great community partners to host an event that celebrates the season and prepares our future generation of leaders to thrive.”
