(ELMONT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) joined the Haitian United Foundation in Elmont on Monday, Nov. 25 at their successful Thanksgiving turkey drive. The event, which was amplified by the support of sponsors like the Green Acres Mall and hosted by Le Spot Café, fed more than 125 families. “Efforts like these provide more than nutrition – they provide hope for better days and affirm the caring spirit of our neighbors,” Legislator Solages said. “I applaud the Haitian United Foundation, Green Acres Mall and Le Spot Café for making this a great success and appreciate Naama Francois’ efforts to marshal a great team of volunteers and friends that ensured the event ran as smoothly as it did.”
