(ELMONT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) is pleased to report a series of forthcoming traffic safety improvements for the Elmont community. Following numerous accidents including a fatal crash, Legislator Solages confirmed that a new traffic light is scheduled to be installed at the intersection of 238th Street and Dutch Broadway early this spring. Another traffic light will be added outside the Elmont Post Office on Elmont Road.
Legislator Solages and his team were also successful in their advocacy for swift repairs to traffic lights at the intersection of Bayless Avenue and Elmont Road.
“Elmont has some of Nassau County’s most heavily traveled roads, and I am committed to preventing accidents and promoting traffic safety for drivers, bicyclists and motorists in any way I can,” Legislator Solages said. “I am glad that our advocacy has yielded key improvements for Elmont residents, and I will remain focused on investments that will make our communities even better places to live, work, and raise our families.”
