(ROSEDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) proudly supported the Haitian American Veterans Association’s (HAVA) annual barrel initiative on Wednesday, Jan. 29. Legislator Solages, who serves on HAVA’s board as its Legal Officer, donated clothing toward the effort, through which the nonprofit organization gathers and ships essential supplies to Haitians in need. “As Haiti continues to struggle amidst continuing unrest and economic instability, it is encouraging to see how leaders throughout the diaspora are marshaling essential aid when it is needed the most,” Legislator Solages said. “I am proud to support this vital philanthropic effort and thank HAVA president and founder Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime for his leadership and unwavering commitment to this humanitarian cause.”
