(ELMONT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) joined with the Jamaica Square Improvement League on Saturday, Aug. 10 to support their annual back-to-school supply and backpack giveaway at Hendrickson Avenue Park. Through the event, more than 300 students entering Kindergarten through sixth grade in the fall received backpacks filled with school supplies.
“The community always wins when we work together, and Jamaica Square Improvement League President Claudine Hall is instrumental in pulling together a wonderful event that ensures deserving young people in our community start the school year right,” Legislator Solages said. “I am thankful to all of the volunteers and sponsors who do so much to ensure the success of this event year after year.”
