(VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence) partnered with New York State Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, the Nassau County Police Department’s Fifth Precinct, and community stakeholders to celebrate National Night Out at the Wheeler Avenue Elementary School in Valley Stream on Tuesday, August 1.
Held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is an initiative that seeks to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing them together with residents in a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere.
“For the last 40 years, National Night Out events have been an instrumental part of efforts to strengthen and build authentic relationships between local law enforcement and the communities they are entrusted with serving,” Legislator Solages said. “I thank the Fifth Precinct, Assemblywoman Solages and all of the sponsors and stakeholders who helped to make this event fun and safe for all in attendance.”
