(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) recently toured SIBSPlace in Rockville Centre. An affiliate of Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, the not-for-profit organization supports children whose siblings or parents have faced a cancer diagnosis through programming that empowers them to build meaningful relationships and be expressive through art, music, bereavement groups, and quality time spent together.
“As a child, I lost my mother to cancer – and I know how important SIBSPlace’s mission is and just how impactful their work is for children and families all over Nassau County,” Legislator Davis said. “As the organization closes in on its 25th anniversary, I could not be prouder to have SIBS Place in our community, and I am so thankful to Joanna Formont, Karen Bird, Kerri Wagner, and Courtney Riiska for welcoming me for my recent visit!”
