(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) celebrated the launch of Hempstead Village’s Emerald City Civic Association during the organization’s inaugural pancake breakfast event at Kennedy Memorial Park on Saturday, June 8.
Established last year, the Emerald City Civic Association offers activities and events for Hempstead Village residents, including volunteer opportunities, social gatherings, and educational workshops. The pancake workshop gave participants an opportunity to learn more about village government, the police department and the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce; how to register to vote; opportunities to become Presidential election poll workers; and more.
“As a Hempstead Village native and Hempstead High School graduate, I am thrilled to see the Emerald City Civic Association’s passion for bettering the community that gave me so much during my formative years,” Legislator Davis said. “I wish them tremendous success in the pursuit of their service mission and thank them for their commitment to improving the lives of the people of Hempstead Village.”
