Legislator Scott Davis Invites Residents to Attend Free Online Community Assessment Grievance Workshops
WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Scott Davis (D – Rockville Centre) is partnering with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC) to host two free online community assessment grievance workshops to inform residents about how to challenge their assessed value of their property online.
During these online workshops, taxpayers who disagree with their assessment will learn how to navigate the online grievance process and dispute their assessment. There will also be an opportunity to submit via chat any questions to the representative from ARC. Questions will be answered after the presentations and/or they will contact you directly.
“Until the necessary reforms are implemented to restore accuracy and equity to Nassau County’s assessment system, a grievance is one of the most important tools at your disposal for ensuring that you only pay your fair share of property taxes. Most importantly, you do not have to pay a tax certiorari firm to complete the simple grievance application,” Legislator Davis said. “I encourage any homeowner who questions their property’s assessed value to join us for these user-friendly workshops and learn, step by step, how to exercise your rights.”
