(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) was honored to march in the annual Rockville Centre Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27. Legislator Davis and his colleagues in government marched with grand marshal and Gold Star mother Marianna Winchester, whose son, Lt. Ronald Winchester, was killed nearly two decades ago while serving in Iraq. The parade was organized and hosted by Rockville Centre American Legion Post 303.
“Rockville Centre’s annual Memorial Day parade is always a beautiful tribute to America’s fallen heroes, and the gravity of the occasion hit especially close to home with Gold Star mother Marianna Winchester leading the parade,” Legislator Davis said. “I appreciate the diligence demonstrated by American Legion Post 303 in their work to ensure that the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in our armed forces live eternally in our hearts.”
