WHAT – Nassau County Legislators Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) and Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) are partnering with the Nassau County Department of Consumer Affairs and the Emerald City Civic Association to host a senior scam prevention workshop at Kennedy Memorial Park in Hempstead Village at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.
“As an attorney and father, I am committed to equipping our community with the resources they need to feel safe and secure in every aspect of their lives,” Legislator Davis said. “Through this collaborative event with the Emerald City Civic Association and the Department of Consumer Affairs, I am looking forward to an informative evening that gives our seniors valuable tools they can use to protect themselves from being exploited by unscrupulous con artists.”
“Far too often, scammers target their victims and make heartless attempts to steal what our seniors have worked their whole lives for – but here in Nassau County, we are coming together to stop them in their tracks,” Legislator Nicks said. “I am proud to be working with Legislator Davis, the Emerald City Civic Association and the Department of Consumer Affairs to host a workshop that will give its participants peace of mind and empower them to protect themselves.”
