Statement from Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams Regarding
Comptroller’s 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and County Executive Curran’s Proposed Re-Financing of County Debt
“While the Comptroller’s 2019 CAFR report illustrates how Nassau County’s improved pre-COVID 19 fiscal standing provided a measure of cushioning for pandemic-related economic impacts, it also vividly illustrates the unprecedented economic challenges ahead of us that we must now roll up our sleeves and tackle,” Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) said on Wednesday, July 1. “In furtherance of these efforts, the Minority Caucus is currently reviewing County Executive Curran’s debt re-financing proposal and is committed to working with the administration to achieve the best possible outcome for Nassau residents.”
