(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - On Friday, Oct. 28, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) issued the following statement:
“The Democratic Minority offered a common-sense, fiscally sustainable plan for enhancing public safety that funded an additional 110 Nassau County police officers. Today, the Republican Majority didn’t just say no – they refused to even hold a vote on it,” Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) said.
“It is truly mind-boggling that our Republican colleagues would refuse to take concrete steps toward addressing the public safety concerns they have so frequently expressed,” Minority Leader Abrahams said. “However, obstructionist tactics and hollow rhetoric will not succeed in distracting the public from today’s inaction.”
