(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) partnered with Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) to secure a $100,000 Community Revitalization Project (CRP) grant to purchase a storage facility for the Baldwin Fire Department.
“This storage building will be used to house our water rescue equipment and other emergency management equipment,” Baldwin Fire Commissioner Doug Weidman said. “It is great to have an indoor spot to keep the equipment protected and also be able to maintain the equipment. We hope to never have to use it, but in the event of an emergency, it will be ready to go.”
“This state-of-the-art facility will help ensure that Baldwin Fire Department has the space they need to secure the life-saving vehicles and tools they rely upon to respond to emergencies,” Legislator Mulé said. “I remain committed to doing all I can to support our first responders as they answer the call to serve and protect our residents.
“Community Revitalization Project grants ensure that agencies like the Baldwin Fire Department are fully prepared to respond to emergencies in the communities they serve,” Legislator Abrahams said. “It was my pleasure to partner with Legislator Mulé to ensure our brave local first responders have the resources they need to continue excelling in their mission.”
