(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) partnered with NuHealth and the Breast Imaging Center at Nassau University Medical Center to bring the breast cancer screening van to Kennedy Memorial Park on Wednesday, May 15. During the event, women who pre-registered through Deputy Minority Leader Drucker’s office received free mammograms, breast exams, and self-examination instructions from a medical professional.
“Detecting breast cancer early is vital to treating it successfully, and resources like the mammography van bring life-saving services directly to our constituents,” Legislator Davis said. “I am so thankful to NuHealth for their partnership in this life-saving initiative – just one of many that illustrates their importance in our County’s healthcare matrix and why Nassau University Medical Center must be preserved as a vital asset for our region’s future.”
