(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – To help students confidently roll into the 2022-23 school year, Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) partnered with TRIMZ Barber Shop owner and event founder Leon Levar Broughton joined forces with Heeling Soles, Inc., Glory House Recovery, Inc. and Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) to host the 16th annual Kutz For Edu back-to-school giveaway at Baldwin Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 17.
At the event, almost 200 students were registered to receive school supplies, bookbags, complimentary haircuts and hairstyles from TRIMZ Barber Shop stylists, and sneakers provided by Heeling Soles. Families also had the opportunity to bowl for free courtesy of Baldwin Bowl, win prizes and receive giveaways. Empire HealthPlus sponsored a face-painting station that thrilled youngsters with colorful designs. Special recognition goes to Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Affinity By Molina Healthcare and Girl Pride International for their financial contributions to help make this event uplifting and fun.
