Legislator Solages will also discuss his call for Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead to establish a rapid COVID-19 testing site at the Five Towns Community Center as part of efforts to address a recent spike in the rate of positive tests.
WHAT: To raise awareness and provide residents with the necessary tools for addressing a troubling increase in the rate of positive COVID-19 tests in Lawrence and Inwood, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) is partnering with the Five Towns Community Center and Gammy’s Pantry to launch a new initiative that will result in personal protective equipment (PPE) being delivered directly to residents.
Earlier this week, Legislator Solages wrote to Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and Town of Hempstead Supervisor Donald Clavin, urging them to establish a rapid COVID-19 rapid testing site at the Five Towns Community Center. Legislator Solages’ grassroots PPE delivery initiative is an outgrowth of that advocacy.
WHO: Legislator Solages will be joined by Pat Jones, Five Towns Community Center Board Member and Sasha Young, Founder of Gammy’s Pantry, local community and religious leaders.
