WHAT: Following the completion of the Nassau County Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Elmont Road and Dutch Broadway traffic study, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Valley Stream) and DPW officials will host a community meeting, during which a draft plan for improving traffic and pedestrian safety will be presented.
“The top goal of this meeting - and of these projects - is to make our roads and our communities safer,” Legislator Solages said. “I invite all members of the community to attend the meeting, learn about the proposal and offer feedback.”
Faced with numerous accidents and fatalities that have occurred on these roads in recent years, Legislator Solages has worked closely with DPW to implement improvements, such as additional lighting, new crosswalk indicators and speed indicator signs on both roads, while the traffic study was underway.
