WHAT – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence) is partnering with the State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA) and the Long Island Housing Partnership to host a workshop for first-time homebuyers at the Elmont Memorial Library on Wednesday, September 13.
During the event, prospective homebuyers will learn how they may qualify to receive significant money toward the purchase of their first home and gain knowledge about best practices in preparing financially; navigating the home-buying process; securing pre-approval; and available free grant, loan, and first-time homebuyer programs.
“Becoming a homeowner can open the door to the American dream and help establish valuable equity and generational wealth that can be passed along to the future,” Legislator Solages said. “Long Island is such a challenging market to enter, and workshops like these are designed to help first-time homebuyers navigate the process. I thank our partners at SONYMA and the Long Island Housing Partnership for hosting this workshop and encourage anyone who wants to become a homeowner for the first time to take advantage of these essential resources.”
Attendees are encouraged to contact Legislator Solages’ office at 516-571-6203 or csolages@nassaucountyny.gov with their questions and/or to RSVP.
