(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – U.S. Rep. George Santos inexplicably compared himself to Rosa Parks in a recent podcast interview. Following this broadcast, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence), the ranking member of the Legislature’s Minority Affairs committee, issued the following statement:
“It is absolutely disgusting that George Santos would even attempt to exploit the heroic legacy of Rosa Parks to shield himself from accountability for his lies and deceit,” Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages said. “However, there have been many deeply offensive, self-serving, and cynical actions leading up to this latest outrage.”
“For the good of Nassau County, Long Island, and our nation, it is long past time for his Republican colleagues in the House of Representatives to stop enabling him,” Legislator Solages added. “If George Santos persists in his refusal to resign, he must be removed from office so that the people of the Third Congressional District can once again get the responsible representation that they deserve as Americans.”
