(NORTH WOODMERE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) joined residents in North Woodmere on Sunday, April 24 for an Earth Day weekend community cleanup. Legislator Solages and volunteers spent the afternoon clearing dozens of bags of garbage - a great deal of it being plastic waste - from a County reservoir situated at the corner of Rosedale Road and Park Lane opposite Jewel Drive.
“Earth Day reminds us that we all must do our part to protect our open spaces and preserve our planet for future generations,” Legislator Solages said. “I am so thankful to Bob Feldman for all he does each year to organize this cleanup and applaud the volunteers who dedicated part of a beautiful Sunday afternoon to beautifying this wonderful parcel of open space in North Woodmere.”
